SKF thrust ball bearings are manufactured as single direction or double direction thrust ball bearings. They are designed to accommodate axial loads only and must not be subjected to any radial load.
In addition to the bearings presented in this section, supplies Skf thrust bearing for special application requirements. This assortment includes bearings with Solid Oil and NoWear coated bearings.
Thrust ball bearings are designed to carry axial (thrust) loads at high speeds, but they cannot carry any radial loads. These Skf thrust bearing feature bearing washers with raceway grooves in which the balls move.

Single-Direction Thrust Ball Bearings

Single-direction thrust ball bearings are comprised of two bearing washers (a shaft washer and a housing washer) and a single cage containing the balls. They can sustain axial loads in one direction.

Double-Direction Thrust Ball Bearings

Double-direction thrust ball bearings use three washers, with two cages containing the balls. This shaft washer is sandwiched between the two cages, allowing the bearing to take axial loads in both directions.
