Needle roller bearing components

  • SKF offers needle roller bearings with inner rings and needle rollers as separate needle roller bearing assemblies.
  • In applications where the shaft cannot be hardened and ground, the inner ring is often used in combination with a needle roller and cage assembly or a drawn outer ring needle roller bearing.
  • Needle roller bearing components can be used to design full complement bearing configurations for low speed or oscillating applications.
  • Compared to bearings with cages, these compact bearing configurations offer very high load carrying capacity and are economical, provided that the shaft and housing bore can be used as a raceway.

  • Allow greater axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing when they are wider than standard

  • Should be located on both sides to prevent axial movement (regardless of whether the ring has an interference fit or a loose fit)

  • Mainly used for compact, inexpensive bearing configurations where the inner bore of the bearing box cannot be used as the raceway of the needle roller cage assembly. The bearing and the bearing box shall be mounted in an interference fit.
